Andy Muschietti, director of The Flash, IT, and DCU's upcoming Batman film, wants to adapt Shadow of the Colossus into a feature film.

When the Shadow of the Colossus film adaptation was first announced, I was pretty excited about what that might look like. It would be so cool to see this masterpiece of a game brought to life on the big screen in an epic and grand scale.

Conversations about a Shadow of the Colossus movie have been around since the late 2000s. However, with such little movement on the project over the years, many fans assumed that the movie was effectively caught in development limbo.

Shadow of the Colossus was originally released in 2005 for PS2 from director Fumito Ueda. The game has players traversing the world to defeat colossal monsters. A new version of the game from Bluepoint Games was released in 2018 for PS4.

While news on the Shadow of the Colossus adaptation has been pretty thin on the ground for years, a new update from the director sounds pretty positive. It director Andy Muschietti said that the movie isn't an "abandoned project" in a recent interview,
