Boss Brian Barry-Murphy says Cardiff City's Carabao Cup quarter-final at home to Chelsea is "amazing" but warns it cannot distract from their league ambitions.
The damage was done in the first period, as goals from Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Estevao saw Enzo Maresca 's side enter the half-time break with a three-goal advantage. Wolves had one back early in the second period through Tolu Arokodare, before David Moller Wolfe struck a second for the hosts in the 73rd minute.
Chelsea comes in as the clear favorite after a positive run of victories, including a resounding win in the Champions League. The London team will look to capitalize on their squad depth and high offensive capability (having scored 12 goals in their last five matches) to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, likely with some squad rotations.
Wolves are well and truly in turmoil, with just two points from their opening nine Premier League games. Their only victories have come in the EFL Cup, albeit against top-flight opposition in West Ham United and Everton.
Holders Newcastle will host fellow Premier League side Fulham at St James' Park in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. League One Cardiff City, the only side from outside the Premier League to reach the last eight, are at home to Chelsea.
Wolverhampton will face off against Chelsea in the fourth round of the 2025/2026 Carabao Cup. Fans in the USA can watch all the action live on television or stream it online through available broadcast options.
