Mookie Betts has a storied history at Fenway Park, but the Red Sox didn't see him for the opener of a three-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Betts was not present for Friday's matchup and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided clarity to his update from earlier this week that the All-Star would miss the opener with a personal matter.

For the second time in as many days, the Yankees are making a trade. This time they’re getting Amed Rosario from the Washington Nationals, in exchange for prospects Clayton Beeter and Browm Martinez. The YES Network’s Jack Curry, one of the closest-connected reporters to the Yankees front office, broke the news.

Beeter, originally acquired from the Dodgers for Joey Gallo, appeared in two big league games for the Yankees this season. He allowed six earned runs over 3.2 innings. The 26-year-old righty, who debuted with the Yankees last year, had a 3.10 ERA over 18 games at Triple-A.

The Nationals made their first move less than a week before the Trade Deadline by acquiring right-hander Clayton Beeter and outfielder Browm Martinez from the Yankees in exchange for veteran utility infielder Amed Rosario on Saturday night.
