Caitlin Clark was able to add another accolade to her impressive ledger on Wednesday as she was named the 2025 WNBA Player of the Year at the ESPYs.

Two Los Angeles-area firefighters were honored at the ESPYs Awards on Wednesday night, receiving the Pat Tillman Award for Service for their response to the devastating January wildfires.

Host Shane Gillis brought his trademark brand of combative humor to the opening monologue of Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards in Hollywood, drawing a mixed response from the audience of professional athletes and Hollywood celebrities.

Comedian Shane Gillis hosted this year's ESPYS, and he certainly didn't hold back in his unfiltered monologue, making jokes about a host of topics and athletes including Shohei Ohtani, Caitlin Clark and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Skubal is one of four MLB players nominated in the " Best MLB Player " category at the 2025 ESPY Awards, ESPN's annual awards show. First baseman Freddie Freeman and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers and outfielder Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees join Skubal as nominees.

Gilgeous-Alexander was named the ESPY Award winner for 2025 Male Athlete of the Year. The other nominees were Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley and Shohei Ohtani.

An emotional Katie Schumacher-Cawley accepted the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance with her husband and children looking on. The Penn State women’s volleyball coach was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in September. She continued coaching without missing a practice and became the first woman to guide a team to the NCAA national championship.
