A fanbase of even hardcore sports car racing fans is starting to tire of Ferrari's World Endurance Championship dominance, yet they're largely happy to see the 40-year-old driver climb up to the podium as a Le Mans winner after all he's endured.

Owners will also gain behind-the-scenes access to the development of the race car, and a two-year track car programme with support from McLaren personnel

Defending champions Ferrari was heading for a third straight win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after leading the 93rd edition of the race through the night and into Sunday morning at the Sarthe circuit.

Robert Kubica, Ye Yifei and Philip Hanson have given Ferrari its third consecutive win at Le Mans, driving the privately entered AF Corse Ferrari.
