J.J. McCarthy left Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a hand injury, potentially concluding what's been a volatile first NFL season for the Minnesota Vikings quarterback.  McCarthy injured his hand on a big hit late in the second quarter.

McCarthy suffered the injury late in the first half. Edge rusher Brian Burns sacked McCarthy with 25 seconds left and he fumbled the ball. It was picked up by Tyler Nubin, and he returned it 27 yards for the Giants' only touchdown of the game.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, X-rays were negative. However, imaging tests will be performed in Minnesota to determine the extent of the injury.
