Mets right-hander Kodai Senga exited his start against the Nationals on Thursday at Citi Field in the sixth inning after appearing to injure his right hamstring while covering first base. Nats shortstop CJ Abrams hit a grounder to Pete Alonso at first base.
The Mets are calling up right-hander Max Kranick with Kodai Senga going on the injured list, a source confirmed to ESPN. Kranick has a 3.51 ERA in 22 relief appearances for the Mets this season. He was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on June 3.
