Prosecutors have pledged to re-try Judge Jeffrey Ferguson after a jury deadlocked 11 to 1 in favor of second-degree murder in his recent trial.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Eleanor J. Hunter declared the mistrial in the case against now 74-year-old Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ferguson. Eleven of the 12 jurors had wanted to declare Ferguson guilty of second-degree murder,

A mistrial was declared Monday in the murder trial of an Orange County judge accused of shooting and killing his wife in the couple’s Anaheim Hills home. The jury split 11-1 on a second-degree murder charge soon after resuming deliberations Monday morning.
