A stellar first half powered Philadelphia Union into the Eastern Conference Semifinals as they blanked Chicago Fire FC by a 3-0 margin in the Windy City.

Tai Baribo scored two early goals and the Philadelphia Union beat the Chicago Fire 3-0 on Saturday at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview to sweep the best-of-three first-round series in the MLS Cup playoffs.

Three first-half goals by the Philadelphia Union, two by Tai Baribo, and a missed Fire penalty led the Union to a 3-0 win to clinch their best-of-3 first-round series.

Back in August, the Philadelphia Union became the first team to clinch an Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs berth. On Saturday, they became the first team to clinch a spot in the Conference Semifinals.

With his fourth goal of the postseason, Mitchell is tied with Philadelphia Union II forward Stas Korzeniowski for most goals scored in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Playoffs. The Montclair, N.J. native’s four postseason goals are the second-most in club history, surpassing Stefano Bonomo’s three.
