Severance was the most recognized show during the 2025 Emmy nominations followed by The Penguin, The Studio and The White Lotus.
The show’s star, Noah Wyle, has five Emmy nominations to his name from his days on that other medical drama he once starred in, ER, but honestly, he hit a new level of performance with The Pitt. Severance creator Dan Erickson opens up about Season 2's 27 Emmy nominations and what's going on with Season 3.
Apple TV+ has the most nominated program at the 2025 Emmy Awards in drama Severance, with 27 noms for its second season, and most nominated comedy series in The Studio (23), which broke the record of another Apple series,

Television, it turns out, is geeky as hell. That seemed to be the major takeaway as the 77th annual Emmy Award nominations were announced Tuesday, with Severance leading all nominees with 27 total, HBO’s The Penguin coming in second with 24, The Last of Us in fifth with 16, and Andor coming in sixth with 14, including Outstanding Drama Series.
Though it’s been a few years since the first season, Apple TV+’s Severance has more than proved it’s an Emmy powerhouse this morning by netting a total of 27 Emmy nominations, nearly double the 14 nominations received for its freshman season in 2022.
