It seems like whenever a big-time college football job comes open, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer sees his name lobbed about as a potential candidate. No matter that Meyer has now been removed from the college game for seven years now, and has a pretty cushy job with Fox's Big Noon College Football crew.
Urban Meyer has not coached in college football since he retired from coaching Ohio State in 2018. Meyer had a brief stint in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021, but lasted 13 games before being fired after going 2-11.
Ohio State took to X to remind fans that Meyer was announced as a part of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class back in January, joining notable names such as former Alabama coach Nick Saban, former Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick and former Texas Southern defensive lineman Michael Strahan.
