Broncos try to extend their winning streak to 9 games when they face the reeling Commanders
Coach Sean Payton reminded the Denver Broncos this week that only one team in the AFC receives a bye in the playoffs.
Coming off a 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs last week, the Denver Broncos have a bye in Week 12 (Sunday, Nov. 23) before going on the road to face the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football in Week 13 (Nov. 30).
The Broncos need a win on Sunday to win nine consecutive games in a single season for the first time since 2012 (11 games). If Denver gets to 10-2, it would be the club's first time since 2015. The Broncos also need one win to improve to 9-7 overall and 3-4 on the road all-time against the Commanders.
Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II is expected to play vs. the Commanders in Week 13, bolstering one of the NFL’s best defenses.
The Denver Broncos have been without their best defensive player, Patrick Surtain, for three straight games after he suffered a shoulder injury against the Dallas Cowboys.
