Flood warning in effect west of Calgary but no flooding anticipated in city
With all of Southern Alberta expecting as much as 100 mm of rain, some areas west of Calgary were put under a flood warning on Monday.
An Environment and Climate Change Canada weather advisory issued Monday says Calgary can expect anywhere from 50 to 100 millimetres of rain.
The province says the Elbow River west of Calgary has risen by two metres and could rise another half-metre in the coming days.
