Jimmy Kimmel, the host of late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", is extending his contract with ABC one year.
ABC has signed Kimmel to a one-year contract extension that keeps “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on the air through May 2027, Kimmel announced during Monday night’s monologue. The late-night host’s previous deal was set to expire in May 2026, according to The Guardian.
As the president addressed the nation about the economy, it was “hard to tell if he was giving a speech or having a seizure on TV,” Kimmel said.

In September, ABC temporarily suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live” after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened regulatory action against ABC and Disney in the wake of a joke Kimmel made about Trump’s response to the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump then suggested Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon should be the next television hosts to go.
