The New York Knicks plan to interview two head coaches who were fired during the 2024-25 season as they continue to seek a replacement for dismissed coach Tom Thibodeau, ESPN reported Saturday.

As Windhorst and Bontemps note, Kidd spent his 20th and final pro season as a player, 2012-13, with New York. The Hall of Famer helped the Knicks secure the No. 2 seed in the East and make the second round of the playoffs — where they lost to, you guessed it, the Pacers.

The Knicks are moving on to coaching candidates they don’t require permission to interview from their existing teams.

The New York Knicks are currently conducting a search for their next head coach. The team is having a tough time following the recent firing of Tom Thibodeau on June 3. The team’s initial attempts to interview current head coaches from other NBA teams were met with rejection from five different teams.
