The storm will impact the region through Tuesday, with the most intense rainfall expected between late Sunday night and early Monday afternoon, according to AccuWeather.
A major storm brought heavy rain and coastal flooding to several states on the East Coast including New York, New Jersey and North Carolina.
Fliers at regional airports, especially LaGuardia, are facing delays of up to two hours due to high winds and rain from the nor’easter sweeping the East Coast. The travel headaches are here to stay until at least early Tuesday, according to air traffic and weather officials.
The storm brought more than 2 inches of rain to New York City. In western Alaska, more than 50 were rescued and one person was confirmed dead after remnants of a typhoon hit.
