Olivia Vukosa will become the fourth former Christ the King High School star to play for UConn women’s basketball next fall when she begins her collegiate career. But this spring she’ll have the chance to join one of those former Huskies in one of the nation’s highest honors for high school recruits.

Christ the King center Olivia Vukosa was named the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season on Thursday.

The UConn women’s basketball team delivered a dominant performance Monday night, defeating its opponent 98-45 to advance to the Sweet 16 once again. Fans of all ages packed the arena, celebrating what quickly became a lopsided victory.

Elsewhere, UConn and UCLA remained in the top two spots and Duke and Ohio State reentered the top 10
