University of Arizona latest to turn down Trump’s university compact

PHOENIX — President Donald Trump has been vocal about his desire to reshape higher education — and now that agenda is landing in Arizona. Specifically, the University of Arizona is in his crosshairs.
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - On Monday, the University of Arizona announced it declined the White House’s Compact for Academic Excellence offer.
UA President Suresh Garimella said the university welcomes continued discussions with the federal government to improve higher education.
