Extreme cold warning: Wind chills to fall as low as 40 below in SE Wisconsin
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold warning for all of Wisconsin. In southeastern Wisconsin, the extreme cold warning will be in effect from midnight Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday.
Lake-effect snow may develop along the southeast Wisconsin shoreline, from Milwaukee southward. This could bring light to accumulating snow late tonight through Sunday morning. Forecasts show a 20–40% chance of snow, which could add to the cold and cause travel or daily disruptions.
The winter weather advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. Jan. 20 until 6 a.m. Jan. 21.
