It’s still April, but President Donald Trump is already letting Americans know that the October day widely acknowledged to be Columbus Day will in fact be Columbus Day, thank you very much.

President Trump said in a post on social media that he was “reinstating Columbus Day.” It was never canceled as a federal holiday.

The federal holiday, the second Monday in October, was still known as Columbus Day during Biden’s term, but also as Indigenous Peoples Day.
