There’s an active recall on Cheddar cheese sold in five U.S. states, according to the Food and Drug Administration. This is due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recalled Wicklow Gold cheddar cheese products were sold in 5.2-ounce packages in Ohio and 4 other states and had June 2, 2025, sell-by dates.

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Two types of cheese sold in Ohio were recalled due to potential listeria contamination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on Jan. 3 that two variants of cheddar from Wicklow Gold, distributed by Abbey Specialty Foods, were recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Fairfield, N.J.‘s Abbey Specialty Foods announced on Friday that two of their products — the Wicklow Gold Cheddar Nettle & Chive and the Wicklow Gold Cheddar Tomato & Herb — have been potentially tainted with the foodborne disease.

The products are no longer available on shelves, but some people may have frozen bags of the contaminated vegetables.
