The case of a Southern California judge charged with murder in his wife's fatal shooting has ended in a mistrial.

After eight days of deliberations, the jury was split 11 to 1 in favor of convicting Jeffrey Ferguson, who said he fumbled and accidentally fired, killing his wife.

A mistrial has been declared as jurors could not reach a verdict in the murder trial of Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ferguson.

A judge has declared a mistrial after a jury came back with a split decision in the case against an Orange County judge accused of shooting and killing his wife following an argument in 2023.
