NFL officials stoked drama on Thursday as they granted a timeout for the Green Bay Packers despite the team appearing to commit a false start penalty beforehand.

Jordan Love and Micah Parsons led Green Bay to its fifth win in the last six Thanksgiving meetings with Detroit.

A facemask violation automatically warrants a 15-yard penalty, but because it was enforced from the Lions’ 6-yard line, the Packers were given a three-yard penalty. A couple of snaps later, Jordan Love threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. Green Bay went up 31-21 after the extra point.

Jordan Love was 18-of-30 for 234 yards and a season-high four touchdowns with a 124.2 passer rating. After totaling 213 receiving yards through nine games, Dontayvion Wicks caught six passes for a career-high 94 yards and two touchdowns. Defensive end Micah Parsons finished with 2.5 sacks.

The Thanksgiving nightcap will feature the return of Joe Burrow with the Cincinnati Bengals heading to Baltimore to face the Ravens in an AFC North showdown. The Bengals dealt with some Thanksgiving travel delays and didn't get into Baltimore until after midnight.

The Packers released kicker Lucas Havrisik and reaffirmed Brandon McManus as their starter ahead of the Lions clash.
