Over the last 127 years, North Texas has recorded numerous experiences with snow events that have become significant events in the region’s weather history, according to the National Weather Service.

An Arctic cold front will barrel through North Texas before sunrise Saturday, sending temperatures tumbling into the 30s by Saturday morning. Saturday will mark the start of several days of well-below-normal temperatures: Saturday: Highs may reach the 40s, but brisk north winds will make it feel much colder.

Sunday was the coldest high of the season so far. DFW only spent two hours above freezing. There has been only one other morning that has been colder than Sunday. Temperatures got down to the low 20s across the metroplex and it'll be even colder Sunday night.

North Texas is likely to see a three-day stretch of bone-chilling cold starting Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
