Bob Vylan has responded to the uproar over its “death to the IDF” comments at the Glastonbury festival with a statement that doubles down on the artist’s pro-Palestinian position, albeit with less inflamed language and more explanatory context than was found in their concert chant.

We, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story,” Bobby and Bobbie Vylan say.

"We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine," the duo said of their "Death to the IDF" chant at Glastonbury

German prosecutors say a man suspected of gathering information on Jewish locations and individuals in Berlin for Iranian intelligence, possibly with a view to carrying out attacks, has been arrested in Denmark.

The suspect was detained in Denmark on suspicion of spying on Jewish organisations and people for Iranian intelligence services.
