Connor Bedard out at least 1 game for Blackhawks

Young Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard won’t play against the Detroit Red Wings tonight as a result of a freak injury suffered on a meaningless game-ending faceoff play. Chicago Hockey Now’s Jack Bushman’s report says Bedard’s right shoulder or arm was injured.
Kane line, supported by Copp and van Riemsdyk, will face a Blackhawks lineup missing Bedard, with goaltending from Gibson and Soderblom key to the game.
With 0.8 seconds left, Bedard attempted to win the draw to give Chicago one last chance, but he was knocked down by Blues center Brayden Schenn. He grasped at his right shoulder and immediately headed to the locker room, accompanied by a trainer, while his teammates remained on the ice and the bench.
Connor Bedard will not play for the Blackhawks when they host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; FDSNDET, CHSN) after the center was injured at the end of a 3-2 loss at the St. Louis Blues on Friday.
