Washington tight end Zach Ertz has cleared concussion protocol and will play on Sunday against one of his former teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, Commanders coach Dan Quinn told ESPN.
Jalen Hurts was ruled out of the Philadelphia Eagles’ game at the Washington Commanders on Sunday with a concussion. Hurts’ head bounced off the ground at the end of one run, and Frankie Luvu hit him in the helmet at the end of another early in the first quarter.
Kenny Pickett replaced Hurts on the drive and went 3 of 3 for 20 yards and a touchdown pass, a 4-yard throw to A.J. brown to give the Eagles an early 14-0 lead over the Commanders. Pickett targeted Brown on all three of his pass attempts, including a 10-yard completion for a first down on his first throw replacing Hurts.
With Hurts in the concussion protocol, he'll have to clear a five-step process before returning to game action for the Eagles.
