A few hours in, the stock market rout has wiped nearly $300 billion from the planet’s billionaires—particularly those with Trump ties.

The Trump tariffs, which swept countries and sent shockwaves to global markets after being announced on April 2, has come at a cost to the world's richest billionaires. Nine out of the top 10 billionaires who lost most wealth are from the US.

Mark Zuckerberg lost $17.9 billion overnight and was last worth $189 billion. His wealth has eroded $18.6 billion in 2025. Jeff Bezos lost another $15.9 billion on overnight meltdown, which left him with a wealth of $201 billion.
