As millions of Americans hunker down for the winter storm, 19 states and Washington, D.C., have declared states of emergency.
Snow, sleet and ice covered Memphis and much of Tennessee this weekend as a impactful winter storm entered the area.

On his own Twitter account, Cantore predicted 10 to 18 inches in NYC with regards to the pending storm. That range would double or triple the amount of snow that's already fallen in NYC to date this winter. According to National Weather Service data, 9.7 inches of snow was recorded to date this winter in New York's Central Park.
In the Northeast, forecasts have called for 12 to 18 inches, though totals will vary locally and may be lower along the immediate coast. Mr. Lamers noted the potential for a “slowly pivoting snow band” to set up over the region; on the high end, localized areas could see two feet or more.
