Demonstrators hit the streets again in L.A. after President Trump deployed the National Guard due to protests against ICE raids.

The Trump administration faces a legal challenge to its deployment of the military to protests. Tensions flared after President Trump sent troops, and protests spread to other U.S. cities.

The Los Angeles Police Department has declared all of downtown as an unlawful assembly, telling all demonstrators to leave the area immediately. "Downtown Los Angeles has been declared as an UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY. You are to leave the Downtown Area immediately," police said on X.

In Los Angeles, 38 people were arrested downtown on Saturday night, police said Sunday. In Huntington Beach, police arrested a convicted felon they said had a loaded handgun.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the San Francisco Immigration Court at 100 Montgomery Street to oppose President Donald Trump 's aggressive deportation plans after Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE) arrested multiple immigrants at the downtown courtroom, NBC Bay Area first reported.

The demonstrations come on the heels of protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids that began last week and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.
