A suspect is deceased after an officer-involved shooting in Hobbs, the New Mexico State Police wrote in a social media post.

An unidentified person was killed during a shooting involving police in Hobbs Monday. The shooting took place at East Marland and South Fowler. The Hobbs Police Department advised residents to avoid the area on Facebook.

Hobbs EMS arrived on scene and transported the female to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital. She was later flown to a Texas hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life
