Gausman struck out six and walked none over 6 2/3 innings in Game 2, retiring 17 straight batters during the longest postseason start of his career. This is part of what makes Gausman great, though. He’s earned his Game 2 start in the World Series, and would have fit just fine in Game 1, too, but the Blue Jays wanted to give the veteran an extra day of rest while keeping rookie sensation Trey Yesavage on schedule.
