An off-duty Customs and Border Patrol agent was shot in New York City's Riverside Park late Saturday night in an alleged robbery that did not appear to target him because of his job, police said

A person of intertest was taken into custody Sunday in connection to the shooting of an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol officer inside a park in New York City, law enforcement sources said.

An off-duty Customs and Border Protections officer was shot overnight at the park under the GWB in NYC, police sources say.
