Paramount has undergone some major changes under new owners Skydance and CEO David Ellison, and Belloni suggests that Sheridan wasn’t a fan of the new regime. The creator doles out hit after hit, but he doesn’t do it for cheap.
Ellison, for his part, reiterated that he plans to invest in the company, plans supported by the monster $7.7. billion deal for UFC rights, as well as deals for things like Bari Weiss’ The Free Press, film rights for the Call of Duty video game franchise, and a deal with the Duffer Brothers, among others.
Paramount began large scale layoffs Wednesday joining other major U.S. companies. The media conglomerate eliminated abut 1,000 U.S.-based jobs in its first round with at least another 1,000 to soon follow.
“CBS Saturday Morning” co-hosts Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson are among the nearly 100 news division employees cut as part of a massive round of layoffs at parent company Paramount.
Layoffs have been expected since the industry-changing merger put CEO David Ellison in charge of the newly formed Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, in August.
