A Powerball player in California missed out on the $163 million jackpot but still won $29,466, lottery officials said. The ticket in the Dec. 30 drawing matched four winning Powerball numbers plus the Powerball, according to the California Lottery.

The Powerball winning numbers are in for the Monday, Dec. 30 drawing with a jackpot is back to $163 million ($73.9 million cash value). The largest winning Powerball jackpot ticket sold in Michigan was worth $842.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $20 million after a lottery player in California won the $1.269 billion on Saturday, according to the Mega Millions website.

Two people are starting off 2025 a little richer after a pair of Powerball tickets totaling $300,000 were sold in the Pittsburgh area. The winning tickets, worth $150,000 a piece, were bought at the Giant Eagle on Washington Road in Washington and the Fine Wine & Good Spirits on East Waterfront Drive in Homestead,
