WGA Awards nominations have been announced with "Challengers," "Civil War," "Hit Man" and "Wicked" among the nominees.

The Writers Guild of America announced the nominees for their awards on Wednesday, and fan favorites like Hit Man (written by Glen Powell and Richard Linklater) and Challengers (written by Justin Kuritzkes) are receiving some love they may have been denied elsewhere.

The Writers Guild of America announced its feature-film nominations on Wednesday, furthering the awards-season momentum enjoyed by “ Anora ,” “ Wicked ” and “ A Complete Unknown .” The announcement was delayed a week because of continuing wildfires in Los Angeles.

“Anora,” “A Real Pain,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Wicked” and “Nickel Boys” are among the films that have been nominated by the Writers Guild of America in the feature film category, the WGA West and WGA East announced on Wednesday.

Screenplays for “A Real Pain,” “Anora,” “Challengers,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Wicked,” and “Nickel Boys” were all featured among the nominees. Surprise nods include Glen Powell and Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man,” Alex Garland’s “Civil War,” and Megan Park’s “My Old Ass,” boosting their chances as Oscar voting wraps up.

Other nominees include "The Brutalist," "A Complete Unknown," "Conclave," "The Substance," "A Real Pain," "Dune: Part Two" and "September 5"
