The woman had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The male victim was pronounced dead around 8:40 p.m. by UAB medical staff.

Police said there were multiple people at the home and they all remained on the scene and were interviewed by detectives.

Officers followed the suspects until they found the vehicle abandoned in the 4100 block of Fairmont Place. Inside the apartment development, officers found 61-year-old Charlie Herbert Moore lying shot and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
