But according to BetOnline, a new favorite has risen to the top with odds of +140 to be named the next head coach at Penn State: Ohio State offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline.
Once a Buckeye wide receiver himself from 2005 to ’08, Brian Hartline has worked with the Ohio State football program since 2017—two years after retiring from the NFL. The now-38-year-old has worked his way up the ranks from a quality control assistant to wide receivers coach, before adding full offensive coordinator duties to his role in ’23.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day seemed most pleased with a Sayin rollout to the right that resulted in a 1-yard touchdown pass to tight end Christian Bennett. The Buckeyes faced third-and-1, but instead of trying to pound it in for six Sayin faked a handoff and fired a strike to Bennett crossing near the end line. Nice.
