The vote could end the strike at the company’s St. Louis-area plants, now in its twelfth week. However, union-represented workers will be voting on a proposal that IAM District 837’s bargaining committee said it does not endorse.
Democrat and Republican U.S. senators voiced their outrage during a committee hearing Wednesday that Boeing cut off health care to 3,000 striking workers at its St. Louis-area facilities. And they accused the world’s largest aerospace company of failing to offer its workers a fair contract.
As the federal government shutdown continues, 1,600 IAM Union members employed at Honeywell FM&T are set to be furloughed Nov. 1, the union revealed Thursday.
