Martin Luther King Day celebrations will take place in Houston this week, leading up to the national holiday on Monday

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Several Houston events are lined up to mark the day and celebrate the civil rights leader. The downtown Houston 2025 Annual MLK Parade starts at 10 a.

Houston will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Jan. 20, starting at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the corner of Smith and McKinney streets, in front of Houston City Hall, located at 900 Smith St.

Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston brings back it's annual tradition, featuring live performances by Prelude Music, Main Street Theater and the Open Dance Project, alongside a range of kid-friendly activities including face painting, balloon art, bounce houses, stilt walkers, chalk art and various food options from concessions and food trucks.
