The burn team at the Detroit Receiving Hospital Burn Unit instituted a Burn Survivor Bell to honor those patients who have suffered from significant tragedy as a result of their burns, but have fought to persevere and overcome countless obstacles throughout their recovery. Earlier this May, David Armstrong, 27, of Walled Lake, MI was the first patient to ring the burn survivor bell. David sustained burns to 90 percent of his body after a tragic house explosion and spent 6 months in the Detroit R
