Today we've published the Scottish Pollutant Release Inventory (SPRI) for 2024. Greenhouse gas emissions from Scotland's largest industrial facilities were down by almost a quarter compared with 2019. Greenhouse gas emissions from all SEPA-regulated industrial facilities fell by 3.85% compared with 2023 - the equivalent of taking around 210,000 petrol cars off the road for a year. This week we have seen a number of catchments move to significant water scarcity. We want to encourage the public, land managers and water users to share images and observations of local rivers and burns to us help build a better picture of conditions across the country. Include the name of the river or burn, the location (a grid reference is helpful but anything to point to a location is beneficial) and a description of the signs of water scarcity stress. Photographs can be submitted to SEPA by
