Video shows a drilling rig’s journey inside an Antarctic glacier holding ancient ice estimated to be as much as 5 million years old. Photographer Martin Froger Silva spent weeks at a remote field camp in Antarctica with the U.S. National Science Foundation Center for Oldest Ice Exploration team – which aims to record Earth’s climate and environmental history – drilling into a glacier. During the final day of his expedition, Froger Silva strapped a camera to the rig to record its decent down the
